SMPS continues to be strong. We are growing our membership, our value, and our impact. To remain on this path and to ensure we are in the best position to help our members navigate through their careers and build business for their firms, we need leaders who are passionate about the profession and have a commitment to excellence. We have much work to do and hope you will consider serving SMPS on our volunteer leadership teams.
SMPS is now issuing its annual Call for Applications for the following positions on the SMPS board of directors and SMPS Foundation board of trustees:
- 2017-18 President-Elect
- 2017-19 Secretary-Treasurer
- 2017-19 At-Large Director
- SMPS Foundation Trustees (6 open seats)
Descriptions of the available positions, obligations, and the terms of office are provided in the Call for Applications, along with the eligibility requirements and a description of the nomination process. When applying for positions on the SMPS board of directors, candidates should be prepared to participate in a 15-minute virtual interview and attend in-person meetings within the following timelines (dates are subject to change):
- Annual planning meeting 2017: June 21-23, 2017
- Leadership Meeting at Build Business, Indianapolis, IN: July 2017
- Fall board meeting: October 2017
- Winter board meeting: January or February 2018
- Spring board meeting: April 2018
- Chapter Presidents’ Leadership Symposium (PLS): April 2018
- Annual planning meeting 2018: June 2018
The SMPS Foundation typically has one in-person meeting, which is held in conjunction with Build Business (held annually in July or August).
