Hello, chapter volunteers!
I’m Bryan Lipps, the new membership director at SMPS HQ. I’m responsible for Society-wide membership retention, recruitment, and processes that serve as the foundation for growth and viability. My experience was mostly gained by 17 years with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), equally in membership and technology.
In my short eight weeks with the Society, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many members, whether it be at the AEC.AI workshop, at SERC in West Palm Beach, or at the Washington, D.C., new member breakfast. I’ve also had the privilege of speaking with chapter leaders from Texas, Washington, and Maryland. These interactions were significant touchpoints for me, but they’re just the beginning.
I was asked recently to describe my time with SMPS so far. I’m on three trains, fortunately all parallel and heading to the same destination! I’m learning, contributing, and trying to impose positive change. As we move forward, I hope you’ll join for a singular ride that leads to a renewed and shared commitment to membership growth and retention.
Much more to come from me. In the meantime, be well!
