SMPS Wins Highest Honor in 2015 Hermes Creative Awards
The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), the premier A/E/C marketing and business development association, is pleased to announce it has won a 2015 Hermes Creative Award for its Marketer publication. SMPS entered Marketer as a magazine redesign and was awarded Platinum, the highest honor.
Marketer, SMPS’s flagship publication, was completely redesigned and the new look made its debut in October 2014. The Society partnered with TGD Communications, a full-service agency located in Alexandria, VA, to revamp the publication. Marketer gained a contemporary look that highlighted industry-related visuals. The redesign also included a new emphasis on editorial to match the associations’ educational focus.
More than 6,000 entries were received from marketing and communications departments, advertising agencies, and PR firms, to name a few. Approximately 15% of these entries were Platinum-level winners. Jaime Flores, SMPS Vice President of Marketing and Communications, says, “Our SMPS Marketer journal being recognized with a platinum Hermes Creative Award, speaks volumes about the hard work done by our HQ staff, content contributors, editorial board, board members, and TGD to produce a publication that is worthy of our esteemed membership. Because of the contributions of these talented folks, Marketer serves as the leading journal for the A/E/C marketing and business development community.”
Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communications professionals. The awards program is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). As stated in their press release dated May 1, 2015, judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
