‘Tis the Season of Learning

Grow your skills to help grow your firm.

I just returned from the Southern Regional Conference and had the opportunity to attend the Southwest Regional Conference in October and SMPS New York’s The Marketing Event in November. All were well-attended and provided great content. Next week I am fortunate to be able to attend the Pacific Regional Conference. With the Missouri Valley, Northeast, and Heartland Regional Conferences coming up in April and Build Business 2017 in July, there are no shortages of SMPS learning opportunities.

There are many reasons to attend regional and national conferences. Both attract high-level speakers and topics that most chapters cannot address. The keynote speakers as well as sessions will enlighten and inspire you, and grow your skills to help you grow your firm.  You will up your networking game and be able to call upon friends from all over the country to help you, coach you, and teach you.In SMPS, our relationships put us only one call away from solving anything.I want to make a quick pitch for Build Business 2017. Conference Chair Stacey Stout, Incoming Conference Chair Julie Huval, Programs Chair Gavin Parr, MAX Chair Josh Miles, and Vice President of Knowledge and Professional Development Marci Thompson are creating an experience unlike any previous Build Business. This year, the conference will have three areas of focus. Wednesday will feature professional development sessions centered around “Build Yourself.

“Thursday’s focus is “Build Your Firm” and will feature sessions to help you build business for your firm and position yourself as a firm leader.

We will close Friday’s learning with “Build the World.” There will be numerous networking opportunities, learning labs, expanded programming for SMPS Fellows and CPSMs and an Evening of Excellence celebrating recognition and inspiration. MAX will take center stage and let’s not forget—we will be treated to Hoosier Hospitality.

I hope to see you all at a regional conference and Build Business this summer. It’s not too early to make your plans. Do it for you and your firm.
