Commit To Making a Big Impact

Last week I attended the Southern Regional Conference and presented “Sell. Do. Win Business: Finding the Secret Recipe” with Foundation President-Elect Melissa Lutz, FSMPS, CPSM. The conference co-chairs, Ashley Roberts, CPSM, LEED AP (SMPS Dallas) and Pamela Conine, CPSM (SMPS Fort Worth) orchestrated and executed an amazing conference. I walked away with big ideas, and it made a big impact on me.

The conference committee carved out some time for me to talk with the participants about the SMPS Foundation prior to the keynote event. As I was preparing for my spot in the lineup, my mind kept turning to the notion that it would be amazing if all members knew the foundation’s mission. My big idea, Mission: Possible—making sure every SMPS member knows what the foundation does. It may take days, months, or even years to make a big impact, but I’m committed to make it happen!Do you know the SMPS Foundation’s mission? To keep it simple, we identify a research topic, FUNdraiser, hire a third-party entity to conduct relevant research, and deliver the findings to you. A huge “thank you” goes out to George Bowden (SMPS Fort Worth) for letting me know that he now understands the foundation’s mission … one member down 6,781 members to go! If you know the foundation’s mission, please email me at carolyn@win-more.com to help me accomplish my Mission: Possible.

In closing, on behalf of the SMPS Foundation board of trustees, I want to thank Chris Rickman, FSMPS, CPSM, and Doug Parker, FSMPS, CPSM, along with entire Southern Regional Advisory board for pledging $10,000 to the foundation. Your donation will make a big impact on our ability to deliver valuable research to our members.

P.S. It’s the week of Valentine’s Day, so please show some love for your foundation by making a donation today. And remember, I look forward to hearing from you as I accomplish my Mission: Possible.
