Looking Back: SMPS Regional Conferences

Looking Back: SMPS Regional Conferences

The SMPS 2021–22 fiscal year is coming to an end and, just last month, the final SMPS regional conference took place. Throughout the year, more than 1,700 attendees gathered at seven SMPS regional conferences. Our participants were hosted in the great cities of Tucson, AZ, Sacramento, CA, Oklahoma City, OK, Orlando, FL, Wichita, KS, Milwaukee, WI, and Lake George, NY.

If you haven’t attended a regional conference before, they’re led by volunteers representing almost every chapter while keeping the SMPS mission in mind: to advocate for, educate, and connect leaders in the building industry. The conferences provide an elevated professional experience in an intimate environment and organized to support geographical networks and culture.

These experiences and opportunities happen because of the hard work and dedication of our regional conference planning committees. On behalf of HQ and the board of directors, thank you to them and to the sponsors, speakers, and attendees. And a special thank you to the planning committee chairs who led the organizational efforts. In many cases, they served for multiple years due to delays related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
