Giving Means Different Things to Different People
December 15, 2022
This time of year is seen as a season of giving. That could mean giving to your children, friends, parents, coworkers—heck, even yourself. The way I see it, the best kind of giving comes from the heart as an indication of your feelings, emotions, and priorities.
This holiday season, we hope that one of your priorities is the SMPS Foundation. Past donations to the Foundation have helped support many, including individuals and chapter members:
“The Foundation has provided leading-edge and valuable research and innovation to our industries for 30 years. I have made a multi-year pledge to support the Foundation’s research and the recently established Zinsmeyer Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).” –Joy Woo, FSMPS, CPSM, LEED AP, Director, Urban Land Institute San Francisco
“I give to the SMPS Foundation because the Society has given so much to me. Without SMPS and the research that the Foundation has funded to advance the science and art of marketing, communications, and business development, my career simply could not have progressed to where it is today.”–Chuck Raymond, CPSM, Communications Director, Weston & Sampson
“We give because research enables marketing to transform businesses. As stewards for our members, SMPS Colorado gives annually to the Foundation, putting our dollars to work on our biggest hurdles.” –SMPS Colorado Chapter
On behalf of my fellow trustees, the SMPS Foundation is very grateful for every gift received – no matter how big or small. If you’re looking for a year-end giving opportunity, please consider making a donation. You can donate online, by Text2Give, and through corporate matching and planned giving. The SMPS Foundation also takes part in AmazonSmile, which allows you to support the Foundation while shopping*. To learn more about the many ways to give, visit our website.
If you’d like to share why you give to the SMPS Foundation, please email me at email@example.com. We’re looking for great stories to spread the news about how the Foundation impacts careers and companies.
Wishing you all a joyful holiday season!
