Laurie A. Buckman, CPSM

Laurie Buckman has over 28 years of experience in business development for private- and public-sector engineering and environmental consulting services. Her focus has been the development of matrix driven strategies that directly correlate with overall business goals and the associated new market/client definition and outreach. She has also developed and implemented extensive seller-doer training and participation programs as well as door-opening strategies.

Buckman currently serves as the Vice President of Business Development for The Plus Group, a national firm providing engineering, automation and controls and design build services to the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food and Beverages industries. In this role she is responsible for market identification, service offering structure, seller-doer training, program implementation and management, and new business acquisition. Prior to The Plus Group, she held both regional and national business development roles for engineering and environmental consulting services where she was responsible for the development of market growth and successful capture strategies, seller doer training, strategic planning and direct client outreach and development.

Laurie Buckman served as chapter president for SMPS Greater Cincinnati from 2003–2004 and obtained her CPSM in 2003. She has remained active with SMPS by participating in CPSM preparation activities, attending national conferences, and leading business development panel discussions during local chapter meetings.

Laurie received a Bachelor of Science in geology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a degree in business administration and marketing from Thomas Moore College.
