MAX Sessions

MAX: Market.Act.eXchange features short presentations at approximately 15 minutes each.

MAX: Market.Act.eXchangeTM, our short-form conference track, is designed to take your career and firm beyond the norm of just another job at just another firm. Some of the brightest stars in the A/E/C industries will share how they turned what they love into what they do.

You’ll hear stories about innovation, leadership, networking, and successful professional relationships.

Meet our three Build Business 2021 MAX speakers and get ready to be inspired:

Kai Kight: Compose Your World

In his emotionally powerful presentations, Kai Kight performs mesmerizing original music and shares stories from his own transformation as an artist. At Build Business, Kai will captivate the audience with a musical presentation as part of his MAX talk, “Compose Your World.” He’ll also speak to the overall theme of what RISE (resilience, impact, strength, and equity) means to SMPS and conference attendees. During his presentation, he’ll share the similarities of composers and marketers—and how it will spark ideas on how marketers can embody the same steps in their own work.

Leah Boltz, CPSM: Finding Our Pinnacles Beyond Life’s False Peaks

Leah Boltz, CPSM, will share her inspiring story of how she moved through her personal recession to get unstuck and climb to her actual peak after reaching a false peak. In mountaineering, a false peak appears to be the mountain summit. But upon reaching it, you find the actual summit or pinnacle is much higher. Experienced climbers know this situation can be extremely dangerous and disorienting. And like their counterparts in the business world, successful expedition leaders know that languishing in this discouraging state leads to certain failure, or worse—not just for the leader, but for the entire team. The only option is to keep going, to find a route out of the fog, find the true summit, and continue climbing for ultimate success.

As leaders, we must keep going tenaciously, with vision and strength—for ourselves, our teams, our companies, and even our families.
