Gavin Parr

As a Principal and the CEO of CCS International, Inc., Gavin provides leadership and management of the strategic and day-to-day operations of the business organization, including general office administration, oversight of production/technical operations; client management, business development, quality assurance, full management accountability for determining resources, staff hiring, and training needs to support the strategic objectives. He provides leadership and mentoring to staff by actively managing revenue, expenses, clients and projects. He has been with CCS International Inc. since 2000 and has developed a strong understanding of marketing in the A/E/C industries through a large network of clients. Gavin served as past-president of SMPS Chicago and is also a member of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), American Institutes of Architects and American Society of Healthcare Engineers.
Doug Parker

Doug Parker

Doug Parker, FSMPS, CPSM, is a strategic marketer and brand champion with more than 23 years of experience. Doug began his career in A/E/C marketing in 1996 and has served as associate principal/marketing director for firms ranging from a 30-person sole proprietorship to a 250-person national firm with nine offices. In 2009, he joined a law firm where he served as chief marketing and operations officer. Today, after taking a year-long sabbatical, Doug is a managing principal and CMO with Zweig Group, a national management and marketing consultancy providing research, publishing, training, and advisory services for firms in the AEC industry. In 2018, Doug presented a MAX Keynote at Build Business. He is a former Secretary/Treasurer of the society’s National Board of Directors; is a two-time Chair of the SMPS Southern Regional Conference, and is a past president of the SMPS Houston Chapter.

Jen Newman, CPSM

Jen draws from her 20 + years of AEC-industry experience to help firms grow their people and profits while ELEVATING THE INDUSTRY. With a firm belief that business development is everyone’s business, Jen has a passion for helping firms create and implement business development strategy while building all-star teams of doer-sellers, business developers, and marketers. She utilizes her background in business development leadership to raise a new generation of business developers that are confidently and enthusiastically helping their firms grow. Jen understands the best results come from training that is customized, interactive, utilizing real world exercises with action items and methods of accountability to ensure learning is extended to implementation. Jen has a knack for pushing people out of their comfort zone to exceed their goals. Jen’s ultimate purpose is in elevating others by coaching them to succeed and with an energetic and enthusiastic style, she makes it fun. Throughout her career, Jen has served in leadership positions for numerous industry and community organizations such as SMPS, ASHE, APWA, WTS and the YMCA earning recognition for her service. She holds a BS in Organizational Management and Development. She is proud to hold the CPSM designation and has served SMPS on the local, regional, and national level for over 12 years. She holds a BS in Organizational Management and Development.
Amy Moen

Amy Moen

Amy Moen’s professional journey began in academics and art: she holds an M.F.A. in printmaking from The University of Texas at Austin. In the mid ’90s, after helping a friend market his architecture practice, she found a new world where her art-making processes were a fit. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in marketing and selling professional services for A/E firms. SMPS Houston has recognized her with the Hall of Fame, the Marketing Excellence, and the Rock of the Chapter Awards. In addition, Amy is actively involved in Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), Rice Design Alliance (RDA), and the Architecture Center Houston Foundation.
