At Messer Construction Company, Bethany Smith leads a dynamic team whose mission is to drive strategic, thought-provoking communication through innovative channels to reach all members of the Messer community. Messer is a 1800-person construction services firm based in Cincinnati, OH with 10 regional offices with revenues exceeding $1 billion.

Before joining Messer in 2016, Bethany served in marketing, business development and community affairs roles for Taft Law and Turner Construction Co. She received her Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation from SMPS in 2005, and was named a SMPS Fellow in 2014. Bethany has been honored as Marketer of the Year by SMPS, a Next Generation Leader from the NKY Chamber, and as one of Cincinnati’s Forty Under 40.

In addition to her passion for marketing professional services and SMPS, Bethany devotes time to the Greater Cincinnati Children’s Law Center, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Allied Construction Industries.

Kenda Salisbury, FSMPS, CPSM, is responsible for leading Degenkolb Engineers’ strategic growth efforts across the Pacific Northwest region. With more than 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industries, Kenda specializes in developing and managing client development strategy. She has been successful in mentoring and working closely with technical professionals to help them strengthen their client relationships and build business. .

Kenda was named an SMPS Fellow in 2019 and has been a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) for more than 15 years. She’s an active member of SMPS, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and the Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineers (WSSHE). Kenda is also a founding member of Building Women, an organization focused on the education and growth of women in the healthcare design and construction industries. She serves on the Standing Advisory Committee for Harborview Medical Center, acting as a community advocate for the hospital’s design and construction projects.

A trained graphic designer, I also keep current on latest presentation and document production technology to ensure collateral materials are presented in the best manner possible.

With over 15 years’ experience in the industry, I have led strategic marketing efforts for internationally renowned engineering and architecture firms to develop their brand, understand their position in the marketplace, and develop strategies to pursue projects in their target sectors which include the corporate, healthcare, cultural, residential, and education markets.

Marketing and business development professional with 17 + years experience in the AEC industry and am currently the Director of Marketing for Tec Inc. My experience includes developing teaming and client relationships, and identifying potential projects. My marketing experience includes planning, proposals, presentations, social media, print and electronic collateral development, and social media.

Throughout my career I have been involved in the administration and corporate development of my firm. I actively participate in corporate planning, strategic planning and marketing decisions. I obtained certification from Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) in 2007.
