Announcing Our 2017-18 Volunteer Leaders

The Society for Marketing Professionals Services (SMPS) is grateful for the enthusiastic response to our invitation for members to serve in volunteer leadership roles. The Nominations and Elections Committee thoroughly reviewed all the qualified applications and is pleased to present the slate of officers, directors, and trustees for the forthcoming fiscal year.

In accordance with the SMPS bylaws, the following candidates have been appointed by the Nominations and Elections Committee to fill three open positions on the 2017–18 SMPS board of directors:
•    President-Elect: Chris Rickman, FSMPS, CPSM, Principal/Business Manager, ZFI Engineering Co., Oklahoma City, OK (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2018)
•    Secretary-Treasurer: Barbara Stiles, FSMPS, CPSM, Transportation Business Development Manager, Wantman Group, Inc., Ocoee, FL (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    At-Large Director: Stacy Stout, FSMPS, CPSM, Principal, BRANDiac Strategies, Centennial, CO (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)

Four current directors will continue serving on the SMPS board in 2017–18 in the following positions:
•    President: Nancy J. Usrey, FSMPS, CPSM, Associate Vice President, HNTB Corporation, Plano, TX (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2018)
•    Past President: Craig S. Galati, AIA, FSMPS, CPSM, President, LGA, Las Vegas, NV (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2018)
•    At-Large Director: Scott, D. Butcher, FSMPS, CPSM, Vice President, JDB Engineering, Inc., York, PA (Term: September 1, 2016, to August 31, 2018)
•    At-Large Director: Elizabeth M. Harris, CPSM, Vice President, United Consulting, Norcross, GA (Term: September 1, 2016, to August 31, 2018)

The Nominations and Elections Committee also recommended and the SMPS board approved the re-election of the following SMPS Foundation member trustees in 2017–18:
•    Holly Bolton, FSMPS, CPSM, Owner, 3chord Marketing, Indianapolis, IN (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    Amy Collins, CPSM, Marketing Manager, Wagman Construction, York, PA (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    Carolyn Ferguson, FSMPS, CPSM, Owner|President, WinMore Marketing Advisors, Denton, TX (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    Marion Thatch, FSMPS, President, Distinction in Marketing, Walnut Creek, CA (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)

The Nominations and Elections Committee also recommended and the SMPS board approved the election of the following SMPS Foundation member trustees in 2017–18:
•    Janet Brooks, CPSM, Director of Business Development, Clark Nexsen, Charlotte, NC (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    Andrea Goodwin, CPSM, Director of Marketing, Cardno, Houston, TX (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    Michael McCann, FSMPS, CPSM, Senior Business Development and Marketing Manager, The Clarient Group, New York, NY (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)
•    Brad Thurman, P.E., FSMPS, CPSM, Principal & Chief Marketing Officer, Wallace Engineering, Tulsa, OK (Term: September 1, 2017, to August 31, 2019)

The following member trustee will continue to serve on the SMPS Foundation board in 2017–18:
•    Melissa M. Lutz, FSMPS, CPSM, Principal/Marketing Director, Champlin Architecture, Cincinnati, OH (Term: September 1, 2016, to August 31, 2018)
