Supporting the Future of A/E/C

This year, the SMPS Foundation has continued its partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to provide financial assistance to students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The SMPS Foundation Zinsmeyer Scholarship Program has been made possible by generous donations, and the Foundation board of trustees sincerely thanks all those who’ve donated.

In particular, Andy Zinsmeyer, SMPS co-founder and member #1, helped initiate the scholarship fund in 2021 through his initial donation of $25,000. He, along with others, continue their support through additional donations to this much-needed program.

A representative from UNCF stated that “this significant initiative truly impacts hardworking and deserving undergraduate students. The SMPS Foundation’s support helps to ensure a future for young men and women who will contribute significantly as competent and conscientious Americans in the workforce and in our society at large.”

The scholarship program focuses on the fields of architecture, construction management, engineering, marketing, mass communications, and public relations. The total scholarship amount awarded to the designated HBCU institutions, per scholarship recipient, may vary but cannot exceed $1,500 for a one-time scholarship amount.

Congratulations to the following 16 students who were awarded scholarships by UNCF for the 2024-25 academic year:
