2018-19 Call for Applications

SMPS is looking for leaders like you! Here is your opportunity to help the Society in fulfilling its vision of transforming business through marketing leadership.

SMPS continues to be strong. We are growing our membership, our value, and our impact. To remain on this path and to ensure we are in the best position to help our members navigate through their careers and build business for their firms, we need leaders who are passionate about the profession and have a commitment to excellence. There is a lot of work to do and I hope you will consider serving SMPS in one of the following leadership capacities.

SMPS is now issuing its annual Call for Applications for the following positions on the SMPS board of directors and SMPS Foundation board of trustees:

• 2018-19 President-Elect
• 2018-19 At-Large Director (2 open seats)
• SMPS Foundation Trustee (1 open seat)

Descriptions of the available positions, obligations, and the terms of office are provided in the Call for Applications, along with the eligibility requirements and a description of the application process. Click on these links to access the 2018 Call For Applications and Application Form. The deadline for submitting your application is Friday, April 13, 2018.

When applying for positions on the SMPS board of directors, candidates should be prepared to attend in-person meetings within the following timelines along with occasional visits to local chapter and regional meetings (dates are subject to change):

• Annual planning meeting 2018: June 25-27, 2018
• Fall board meeting: October 2018
• Winter board meeting: January or February 2019
• Spring board meeting: April 2019
• Annual planning meeting 2019: June 2019
• Build Business 2019, Washington, DC, July 31–August 2

The SMPS Foundation typically has one in-person meeting, which is held in conjunction with Build Business (held annually in July or August).
