SMPS Announces New Vice President of Marketing, Josh Miles

Josh Miles brings branding agency leadership and A/E/C marketing experience to SMPS.

Alexandria, VA−The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), the premier A/E/C marketing and business development association, is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Miles as its new vice president of marketing.

Miles is responsible for leading the strategies, messages, and materials to promote SMPS and the SMPS Foundation. Serving as the chief marketing officer, his responsibilities include overseeing and driving a brand strategy initiative, developing the annual marketing and communications plans that align with the organization’s strategic direction, serving as a strategic advisor and collaborator, and supporting external relationships. Josh will serve as a spokesperson and lead point person on media interactions.

Following the adoption by the SMPS board of directors of a new strategic plan in late 2017, SMPS began the search for help to lead the implementation of their strategic initiatives. The Society tapped an SMPS Indiana member who has been actively engaged with the organization since 2010.

Miles brings nearly 20 years of experience in branding, marketing, and advertising experience, and was the co-founder of national branding agency, MilesHerndon. He is the author of Bold Brand 2.0. He speaks from coast to coast, hosts two podcasts (Obsessed With Design and PSM Show) and is a past TedX presenter. Miles was honored as 40 Under 40 by Indianapolis Business Journal and ENR Midwest’s 2015 Top 20 Under 40.

He is actively involved with several tech startups and serves on the advisory board of the Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University.

Miles received his B.A. degree from Purdue University in Visual Communications Design and Advertising Communications.
