Reflections and Aspirations

I cannot believe it is December again. The year has flown by, and we are all trying to finish out 2/16 in a successful and strong way. As president of the SMPS Foundation, I am proud of the work the foundation completed, and with the year coming to an end, it is a perfect time to reflect on our 2/16 accomplishments.

Here are some highlights for the SMPS Foundation in 2016:
• Released, in conjunction with SMPS, the report, Sell. Do. Win Business. A Report on How A/E/C Firms are Using Staff to Win More Work. Available as a download on the SMPS website for SMPS members.
• Completed the first publication in the SMPS Foundation’s Informed Strategies’ series, the 2016 Fellows Survey, which recaps challenges, trends, and predictions in the A/E/C industries. This is also available as a free download to members and for a fee to nonmembers.
• Awarded the 2016 Ron Garikes Student Scholarship to Abbe Emerson, a graduate student pursing her master’s degree in marketing at Texas A&M University.
• A free webinar about hit rates and KPIs that took place on December 15, followed by the release of the second publication in the SMPS Foundation’s Informed Strategies’ series, Measuring for Success: A Look at Hit Rates & Other KPIs in the A/E/C Industries. The report is available as a complimentary download to SMPS members. You can see a lot has been accomplished thanks to our volunteers and donors. And more research reports and programs will be offered in 2017.To continue our vital work, I invite you to join me in making a year-end, tax-deductible* donation to the SMPS Foundation. Your support will directly contribute to the development of future initiatives that support our industry and professionals like you.

Thank you for your continued support and happy holidays!
