Now Accepting Applications for the 2016 Ron Garikes Student Scholarship

The SMPS Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications from eligible students majoring in marketing, communications, or public relations who are planning a career in professional services marketing in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. One outstanding scholar will be selected this summer to receive a $2,500 scholarship award to be used toward academic expenses.

In order to complete the application, students will need to submit a 500-word essay, two letters of recommendation, and their student transcript. Learn more.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. ET on May 31, 2016.

A/E/C Firms and the Web: The Buyer's Perspective

The SMPS Foundation invites buyers of A/E/C services (clients of A/E/C firms) to participate in a short survey on how websites are utilized during the selection process. Survey results will be included in the SMPS Foundation’s upcoming Informed Strategies Report that provides an overview of A/E/C firms and how websites are utilized from both the seller’s and buyer’s perspectives.

SMPS members: please ask your clients to participate in this survey by May 23.

SMPS and the SMPS Foundation Release Report on Business Development

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and the SMPS Foundation announce the publication of “Sell. Do. Win Business. A Report on How A/E/C Firms Are Using Staff to Win More Work.” Available for download on the SMPS website, this report is the culmination of 2015 survey-based research, which provides the latest insight in how firms engage clients and attempt to win work. Newly published Project Delivery Systems SmartMarket Report is now available.

View latest research from the McGraw Hill Construction SmartMarket Report, which examines a variety of delivery systems such as design-build-build, design-build, and construction management at risk. The study also looks at the benefits of emerging delivery systems. Research in the report indicates that choice of a delivery system can have potentially powerful implications for the ability of a project to be delivered satisfactorily, on schedule, and on budget.

Following a year-long research effort including interviews with more than 100 industry stakeholders, the SMPS Foundation has released its book A/E/C Business Development – The Decade Ahead.
