2016 Steppin' Up for SMPS Foundation 2nd Annual Fundraiser

Steppin UpIt is that time of year! Be sure to show your support of the SMPS Foundation by participating in the Steppin' Up Challenge at the 2016 SMPS conference, Build Business: Synthesis, in Philadelphia, PA.

Register online at: and select donation type (Designated for Steppin’ Up Fundraiser on the form) to make a $20 tax deductible donation to the SMPS Foundation. Be sure to send this link to friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you! They can select the Steppin’ Up Fundraiser and add your name in the notes section of the donor form.

Then what?
Use your personal Fitbit, UP band, or other personal fitness device or app to capture the number of steps taken from 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, August 11 until midnight that night. Then grab a screen capture of your steps and e-mail to: by 10 a.m. EST on Friday, August 12.

Attend Friday’s End Note session at 3:15 p.m. in the Ballroom (you must be present to win) for the results and awarding of prizes! The stepper who get the most steps AND the stepper who raises the most sponsorship dollars will each receive a limited-edition collector’s set of the MARKENDIUM six-book series. In both categories, runners-up (or walkers-up, depending on how you get your steps in!) will each receive a voucher good for one SMPS webinar.

SMPS Foundation Releases 2016 Fellows Survey Report

The A/E/C industry is ra2016 Fellow Survey coverpidly changing. Learn how it could affect your firm in the just-released 2016 Fellows Survey report.

What is it? The 2016 Fellows Survey report recaps challenges, trends, and predictions in the A/E/C industry. The content is based on survey results and in-depth interviews of SMPS Fellows, who are some of the design and building industry’s most experienced professionals.

What information can I find? SMPS Fellows were asked about several topics in four segments: Looking Back, Looking Ahead, Preparing for the Future, and Megatrends. The authors summarized 300 pages of research into 30, with several pages dedicated to conclusions, takeaways, and actions.

SMPS members may log in to the SMPS website and download the survey for free. Nonmembers are invited to create an account and purchase the survey.

SMPS and the SMPS Foundation Release Report on Business Development

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and the SMPS Foundation announce the publication of “Sell. Do. Win Business. A Report on How A/E/C Firms Are Using Staff to Win More Work.” Available for download on the SMPS website, this report is the culmination of 2015 survey-based research, which provides the latest insight in how firms engage clients and attempt to win work. Newly published Project Delivery Systems SmartMarket Report is now available.

View latest research from the McGraw Hill Construction SmartMarket Report, which examines a variety of delivery systems such as design-build-build, design-build, and construction management at risk. The study also looks at the benefits of emerging delivery systems. Research in the report indicates that choice of a delivery system can have potentially powerful implications for the ability of a project to be delivered satisfactorily, on schedule, and on budget.
